National Parks Near Hoboken

If you’ve just recently moved into some of the hoboken apartments and you’re looking for fun outdoor activities to do and new places to check out in your area, you’re in luck because today we’re talking about national parks!

National parks are a great way to get outside, be active, and enjoy the beautiful scenery they have to offer. They work great for going on bike rides or runs and they’re free to use as well!

Here are 5 national parks to check out near the Hoboken area!

1.) Liberty State Park

Located in Jersey City, Liberty State Park is a great spot to bring your kids. Why this park in particular you may ask? Well it’s because you can get a great view of America’s very own Statue of Liberty!

They also have many walking, jogging, and biking paths that you can use and enjoy. This park is less than a 20 minute drive from the Hoboken area.

2.) Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park

This next park is located in the heart of Paterson, and offers amazing views of beautiful waterfalls that flow from the Passaic river that will blow you away. 

Paterson Great Falls National Park is a huge park with lots of different kinds of trails, and all with great sights to see and fun to be had. It’s only a quick 30 minute drive from Hoboken!

3.) Sinatra Park

This park, while being on the smaller side, is not short of things to do. There are sports fields and courts for games like soccer, basketball, football, tennis, and more along with activities on the water such as kayaking and canoeing. It also offers great views of downtown Manhattan.

The best part about it is that it’s located in Hoboken! So you can safely assume you’ll never be more than a 15 minute drive away from this beautiful park.

4.) Thomas Edison State Park

Home of the famous residence and laboratory of the great inventor and scientist Thomas Edison, this park also hosts some nice walking and biking paths along with good scenery as well.

This state park is just another quick 30 minute drive from Hoboken and is not only a great nature experience, but an educational one as well!

5.) Ramapo Valley County Reservation

The last park on our list really emphasizes the point of “save the best for last.” The Ramapo Reservation is a large park with plenty of fun activities, amazing hiking paths with pretty nature scenery, views from high places, and waterfalls to admire.

This park is very family friendly, is great for a picnic, and is under 45 minutes away from your home in Hoboken.
